Some Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to question the deal which saw Joelinton arrive at St James’ Park this summer, after watching their side lose 3-1 to Norwich on Saturday.
It’s not often that a performance is so bad that some fans actually question the legitimacy of your move to the club, but in Joelinton’s case, the Brazilian finds himself involved in that exact situation after a poor performance against the Canaries.
The 23-year-old didn’t have a single shot on target and completed zero dribbles as well, along with having five unsuccessful touches and being dispossessed four times – he also went off injured in the 66th minute.
The Magpies paid £40m to Hoffenheim for the striker who scored just seven goals in the Bundesliga last season, and with that low goal tally in mind as well as his poor performance at Carrow Road, some fans are starting to question if there was another reason behind the deal taking place.
