It was a busy summer at the City Ground as Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka brought in no fewer than 16 new players and shipped out 21 on both permanent and loan deals.
The Spaniard was helped in part by super agent Jorge Mendes and his company Gestifute, who represent Monaco winger Gil Dias and young Benfica duo Joao Carvalho and Diogo Goncalves who all came in to the club, with Carvalho breaking the Reds’ transfer record at £13.2m. The ability and willingness to pay these kind of fees proves that the club have entered a new era under Greek owner Evangelos Marinakis and Carvalho will clearly be the most important summer signing for Forest’s future.

Tobias Figueiredo and Saidy Janko both came from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon and Porto respectively and Hillal Soudani was the only other international transfer as the powerful forward arrived from Dinamo Zagreb.
The rest were all domestic signings with plenty of experience between them. Luke Steele and Costel Pantilimon are both experienced goalkeepers and the same can be said for centre-backs Michael Hefele and Michael Dawson as Karanka looks to build a balanced squad capable of challenging for promotion.
So, Forest fans, check out the rest of the signings and vote for who you think was the best in our poll below.
