Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have too many big selection dilemmas to negotiate ahead of his side’s visit to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, but he has a big one to consider when it comes to the holding midfield position.
Club captain Jordan Henderson operated in that berth for much of last season but hasn’t looked to be at his best so far in this new campaign. Alternatively, big money summer signing Fabinho may be handed his Premier League debut. However, Klopp is could deem this too big a match to risk giving the Brazilian his first taste of English football in.

The versatile veteran James Milner has begun this season in fine form and is practically undroppable for the Reds at this time. Yet, he has been at his best recently when deployed in a more advanced role where his creative talents can come to the fore.
We at Football FanCast would select Georginio Wijnaldum to continue in this role against Spurs. The Dutchman with 50 international caps to his name has been very effective when shielding the Liverpool defence so far this season and deserves to maintain his place in the side regardless of the availability of others.
What do you think, Liverpool fans – who would you select to play the holding midfield role against Spurs?
