The club reportedly did not inform 33-year-old Ter Stegen of their desire to replace him as number one, and the German shot-stopper remains determined to fight for his spot in the side.

Ter Stegen has spent 11 years at the Catalan giants, and would have hoped for a better ending if this is to be his time to depart the club. Barca would reportedly prefer to get the German off their wage bill, amidst the continued financial issues faced by the five-time European champions.
