The majority of Manchester City fans that answered our poll thought Benjamin Mendy deserved to start against Liverpool, despite the criticism that was levelled at him by his manager Pep Guardiola in the week.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the 24-year-old is fit to start against Liverpool after recovering from a metatarsal injury and he could be brought straight back into the side in an attempt to nullify the threat of Mohamed Salah for the Reds.
However, ESPN reported last week that the Manchester City boss was furious with Mendy for his attitude and lack of professionalism, after the World Cup winner turned up for a treatment session three hours late having been at Wembley to watch Anthony Joshua the night before.
It seems as though City fans are willing to forgive Mendy though, with 73 per cent wanting him to start the game at Anfield, perhaps because Fabian Delph has been ruled out with injury meaning Oleksandr Zinchenko is the only other option at left-back.
