da dobrowin: Wisden Cricinfo staff16-Apr-2004Rahul Dravid’s monumental 270 in the third Test against Pakistan at Rawalpindi, and India’s victory in the match, has propelled him to a career-high second spot in the PwC ratings. Dravid is currently on 892 points, only five behind Brian Lara. Dravid was in fourth place before the start of the Test.India’s batting strength can be gleaned from the fact that there are two more batsmen in the top ten – Sachin Tendulkar at No. 8 and Virender Sehwag at No. 9 – while VVS Laxman just misses the cut, and is in 12th place. Among the Indian bowlers, Anil Kumble is at No. 7, but the biggest gainers were Irfan Pathan and Lakshmipathy Balaji: Pathan gains nine spots to move to No. 49, while Balaji jumps a whopping 30 places to No. 67.There is less to celebrate for Pakistan, though, with only player each in the top ten batting and bowling lists.Top 10 batsmenRankPlayerPoints1Brian Lara8972Rahul Dravid8923Matthew Hayden8814Ricky Ponting8645Jacques Kallis8336Herschelle Gibbs8157Inzamam-ul-Haq7858Sachin Tendulkar7849Virender Sehwag78210Graeme Smith759Top 10 bowlersRankPlayerPoints1Muttiah Muralitharan9042Shaun Pollock837 3Shoaib Akhtar8264Stephen Harmison8025Shane Warne7776Glenn McGrath7757Anil Kumble7518Jason Gillespie7469Makhaya Ntini72210Daryl Tuffey673Click here for the complete ratings.
