Villa, as usual, have had to change managers this season, and you have your work cut out with the squad you are left with on FM16.
Tim Sherwood’s abysmal reinvestment of the revenue from Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph leaves you with a weak squad and a lot of work to do to keep the Villains in the Premier League.
Whilst the loss of Ron Vlaar leaves you short defensively, the injury to Jordan Amavi makes one of your most talented players unavailable at the start of your save.
Remi Garde is yet to right the wrongs at Villa Park, but there are elements of talent that you should be able to squeeze some quality performances out of. Jack Grealish and Carles Gil should be able to provide you with a creative spark, whilst Jordan Ayew can develop into a useful forward.
Although it could be quite a challenge, here are FIVE bargains for your side…
Adriano
‘Big’ Adriano has become a figure of fun for much of the football world since his fall from grace. However, his technical stats are so magnificent that he could do a job for you on a free transfer on FM16.
If you carefully overlook the work-rate and natural fitness stats, Adriano will, at the very least, be a decent option from the bench to hold the ball up.
Particularly with the inexperience of Ayew and Grealish, the powerful Brazilian will be a useful addition, even with his high wages.
Matt Phillips
Phillips is often looking to leave QPR at the start of saves and the winger has a great deal of pace to trouble Premier League defences.
Whilst he may not have offered much consistency during his time in the Premier League, Phillips would be a useful wide man to help you stretch the game and counter attack against the biggest sides in the league.
The prospect of Phillips joining Agbonlahor and Sinclair makes for quite a lethally quick front line.
Renato Sanches
This Benfica youngster is one of the few players who has a similar potential to Your Tielemans.
Sanches will be relatively costly, but should be available for under £10 million if you negotiate shrewdly and the 17 year old is one of the most gifted starlets you will find.
Expect a great deal of creativity and a player who can develop into a playmaker from deep or a number 10 role.
Joris Mathijsen
Mathijsen might be considered a budget version of Ron Vlaar, but the Dutch international is a good addition on a free transfer and provides a great deal of experience at the highest level.
The physio team might be a bit concerned by the Dutchman’s susceptibility to injuries, but it is all about depth on Football Manager 16 and Mathijsen will be a decent option, even if only from the bench.
Emerson Hyndman
The Fulham youngster, like Renato Sanches, will not come cheaply, but, with his potential, any deal you make for him can become a real bargain.
Hyndman is a hard working midfield player who will consistently create chances and cause the opposition problems throughout your save.
The young american has the talent to dominate in midfield and will perfect to great chances for the pacey Jordan Ayew.
