One of the icons of the last 20 years of Scottish football, Kenny Miller had three separate spells at Rangers and Ibrox.
The striker has flirted with other sides, even Celtic, but it was with the Gers where he found a true home for himself, becoming one of the most feared players in Scotland as he twice broke the 20 goal barrier during his second venture.
Under Walter Smith, he was a real poacher, a player capable of winning matches for his side and even titles on his day too.
With the Light Blues, Miller won three consecutive Scottish Premiership crowns before moving to Bursaspor for £400,000.
Rangers may have failed to make a profit on the forward who initially arrived for £2m in 2008, but it was more than worth it.
During his second period with the club, he netted 53 goals in 106 matches. In one season he even racked up 21 strikes in just 18 Premiership games.
Now aged 40 and retired from the game, Miller cost Rangers a shrewd £37.7k per goal as he regularly found the back of the net and helped his side achieve title after title.
With him and Kris Boyd up front, a man who notched 26 in 2008/09, they were a force to be reckoned with and it really is no surprise that Rangers were so successful.
Very rarely did Miller find the same form, however. Following his second adventure to Glasgow, the attacker only found the back of the net on double figures in three out of 12 seasons – at Cardiff and twice during his third and final spell with Rangers.
It’s clear that he had a special connection with those at the club but none was greater than the bond he established with Walter Smith.
After he hung up his boots in February this year, he stated: “There are a lot of people I would like to thank, not least Donald Park, who gave me the best grounding and education any young footballer could have had during my time at Hibs, and Walter Smith, who was brave enough to bring me back to Rangers for the second time when most managers would have said no.
“Walter always had a knack of getting an extra 10 per cent out of me that I didn’t know I had – hopefully I have made them both proud.”

That 10% was evident during the second spell, mustering his best seasons as a professional footballer. For someone who only cost £2m, it was a mesmeric capture and it more than paid off.
